Referring your patients to Highgate Hospital is easy to do

How to make an NHS e-Referral Service booking at Highgate

You can refer NHS patients to us and select the date and location of their appointment while they are at your GP practice. To book an appointment at Highgate Hospital, please select ‘Aspen’ and then choose ‘Highgate’ from the drop-down list. For more information, please visit digital.nhs.uk/services/e-referral-service

When you have created login details, your patients can also make an appointment with us themselves for the services under the NHS Patient Choice scheme. They can do this on the NHS e-Referral Service booking website at refer.nhs.uk/login

Making a self-pay referral

If you wish to refer a patient for private treatment, you can email a referral letter to highgatecontracts.referral@nhs.net

As referral letters contain sensitive patient data, it is important to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please use the secure email address above and do not send the referral letter through our website.

Private medical insurance referrals

Highgate Hospital is accredited by, and has direct settlement agreements with, most major private medical health insurance companies. This includes BUPA and AXA Health. To refer a patient with private medical insurance, please email a referral letter to highgatecontracts.referral@nhs.net

Your patients should check with their private medical health insurance company before booking any treatment.

 

Diagnostic and medical imaging

Highgate Hospital offers a walk-in service for standard X-rays and can offer appointments on the same day for routine ultrasound scans. Patients are offered the first available appointment for CT, MRI and other complex scans or can choose an appointment time that suits them.

Patients need a referral letter to access our Diagnostic Imaging Service. You can phone the Imaging Department on 020 8347 3866.

Physiotherapy

Referring insured or self-funded patients to Highgate Hospital for physiotherapy is a simple process. You can:

Patients who have private insurance or are self-funding can also refer themselves directly for physiotherapy. They can either:
